Role Definition
Job Description:
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required for the company’s operations. Your role will involve collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and vendors while continuously seeking opportunities to improve terms and conditions.
Negotiation:
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
Drive negotiations to secure advantageous terms for bulk purchases or long-term contracts.
Procurement Process:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as production, logistics, and quality control teams, to understand their requirements and facilitate smooth procurement operations.
Market Analysis:
Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and pricing fluctuations related to the materials and services procured.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and benchmark prices.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and consumption patterns to optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
Coordinate with inventory planners and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials and components.
Quality and Compliance:
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased materials and components meet quality standards and specifications.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications in the procurement process.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing or engineering industry.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build rapport with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supply chain processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
