This is a long-term assignment based in Milan (Home Office), with a project duration extending through December 31, 2027.
Key Responsibilities
The role focuses on technical supervision, document review, and engineering coordination to ensure the electrical systems are robust and compliant with offshore standards:
Engineering Document Review: Systematic review, commenting, and validation of electrical engineering deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical load lists, and protection coordination studies.
Revamping Support: Providing technical expertise for the modification and integration of existing offshore electrical systems, ensuring compatibility between brownfield assets and new installations.
Subsea Electrical Oversight: Reviewing specifications and procedures for subsea cables and umbilical systems, focusing on power distribution and signal integrity.
Equipment Specification: Reviewing data sheets and technical requisitions for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgears, UPS systems, and variable speed drives (VSD).
Technical Compliance: Ensuring all electrical designs align with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ATEX) and specific project requirements for hazardous offshore environments.
Reporting & Administration: Accurate management and compilation of project timesheets, technical query (TQ) logs, and periodic engineering status reports.
Interfacing: Acting as the electrical focal point between the Client, contractors, and other engineering disciplines (Instrumentation, Process, and Structural).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering within the Oil & Gas sector, with specific expertise in Offshore and Subsea installations.
Technical Knowledge: Strong background in offshore power generation, distribution, and brownfield revamping. Familiarity with ATEX requirements for offshore platforms is essential.
Design Tools: Proficiency in reviewing outputs from electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP or EDSA) and reading complex CAD drawings.
Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of Italian is a strong asset.
