Aventa is supporting a Technical Due Diligence (TDD) assessment of a new cable manufacturing facility in the Netherland. The assignment focuses on evaluating manufacturing maturity, process stability and operational readiness prior to stable serial production.

Role Objective

Conduct an independent, hands-on Technical Due Diligence assessment of a cable manufacturing plant, with focus on:

  • Process robustness

  • Long batch stability

  • Scrap and downtime drivers

  • Equipment reliability

  • Staffing and operational readiness

  • Deliver a structured, risk-based report including improvement roadmap.

The expert will evaluate:

  • Critical Manufacturing Processes

  • PE Filling

  • Outer Sheath (Extrusion)

  • Armouring

Including:

  • Parameter control (temperature, pressure, flow, tension, speed)

  • Stability over long runs

  • Manual interventions

  • Start-up scrap

  • Rework %

  • SPC implementation

  • Calibration & maintenance practices

Manufacturing Stability:

  • Scrap trends (last 3 months)

  • Unplanned stops (frequency/duration/root causes)

  • Changeover reproducibility

  • OEE drivers

Logistics & Material Handling:

  • Internal material flow

  • Drum handling practices

  • Bottlenecks and damage risks

Organisation & Maintenance:

  • Staffing levels per shift

  • Operator experience ratio

  • Preventive maintenance programme

  • Equipment criticality classification

  • Power reliability impact

Quality & Data:

  • QC plans

  • Traceability

  • MES/ERP data integrity

  • Defect trend analysis

Deliverables:

  • Risk register (severity-based)

  • Process maturity scoring

  • Gap analysis vs cable industry best practice

  • Prioritized improvement roadmap

  • Final Technical Due Diligence report

Experience required:

  • Minimum 10–15 years in industrial manufacturing

  • Strong experience in continuous production environments

  • Ideally cable manufacturing (HV/MV preferred)

Technical Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of extrusion processes

  • Long-batch manufacturing stability

  • SPC and process control systems

  • OEE and downtime analysis

  • Root cause analysis (RCA)

  • Preventive maintenance systems

  • Equipment reliability assessment

Duration

1–2 weeks onsite + reporting phase (approx. 1–2 additional weeks remote)
