Project Information
Project: Saint-Nazaire Offshore Wind Farm – Cable Repair
Package: SNA Inter-Array Cable (IAG)
Scope: Replacement / repair of inter-array cables
Vessel: Cable Laying Vessel (CLV)
Position in the Organization
The Client Representative is embedded within the project team and acts as the Client’s representative onboard the cable laying vessel.

Purpose of the Role
To represent the Client’s interests offshore during inter-array cable replacement and repair operations, ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with approved procedures, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and HSE standards.
Missions and Responsibilities
Main Role
In accordance with EEN-0062824 – Offshore Employer Representative Scope of Services, the Client Representative shall:
Act as the Client’s representative onboard the CLV during offshore cable operations
Monitor and verify cable recovery, laying, and connection activities
Ensure compliance with project specifications, methodologies, and HSE requirements
Identify, report, and escalate technical or operational issues to the Project Manager
Participate in daily operational and HSE meetings onboard
Contribute to daily reports and offshore operation reports
Project Context and Environment
Two inter-array cables are to be replaced at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm
Approximate length: 1.2 km per cable
Water depth: approximately 20 m
Cables are not buried; stabilization is ensured by cast iron shells and rock bags in specific areas
Project Phases
Investigation phase: ongoing (outside the scope of this job description)
Preparation phase (March / April): cable cutting and rock bag relocation by divers (outside the scope of this job description)
Cable replacement (April):
Controlled recovery of damaged cables from foundations (x4)
Installation of new cable along the damaged route
Cable recovery (May – TBC):
Recovery of damaged cable from seabed (optional within the scope)
Scope of Activities Covered
Office Work
Estimated duration: 5 to 10 working days
Project familiarization and documentation review
Preparation and coordination meetings
Participation in operational reporting
Onshore / Pre-Offshore Works
Period: around Week 15
CLV mobilization and cable spooling follow-up
Estimated duration: 5 to 10 working days
Offshore Works
Two main offshore campaigns:
Around Week 16
Around Week 18
Cable laying operations:
Approx. 6 net working days per campaign
15 days estimated per campaign, including weather contingency
Optional Offshore Scope
Around Week 20 (TBC)
Damaged cable recovery from seabed
Estimated duration: 6 to 10 days
Specific Offshore Responsibilities
Inspection of the cable pulling setup inside turbine foundations
Supervision of transfer operations:
Transfers performed using CTV directly from CLV to turbine foundation
Verification of compliance with approved offshore procedures and HSE rules
Required Qualifications and Certifications
Mandatory Certifications
HBO / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
GWO First Aid
GWO Manual Handling
GWO Fire Awareness
GWO Working at Height (WAH)
GWO Sea Survival
GWO Boat Landing / Transfer
Expected Profile
Proven experience in offshore projects, preferably in subsea cable or offshore wind environments
Strong understanding of cable laying and recovery operations
Ability to operate effectively in offshore and marine environments
High level of autonomy, rigor, and sense of responsibility
Strong communication skills with offshore and onshore teams
