Role summary

Under the supervision of the HSEQ Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental management systems in compliance with ISO 14001 standards.

• Ensuring adherence to national and international regulations for offshore activities, including safety and environmental protocols.

• Conducting risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including leadership, professional staff, and field employees, to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

• Preparing and delivering clear, concise reports, presentations, and documentation using MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) to support decision-making processes.

• Providing training and guidance to employees on environmental policies, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance.

• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of environmental programs and recommending improvements as necessary.

• Acting as a liaison between the organization and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely submission of required documentation and compliance with applicable laws.

• Supporting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Participating in offshore and on-site activities, including inspections, drills, and emergency response exercises, as required.

• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the latest HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) and Group procedures.

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging regulations, and technological advancements in environmental management.

• Assisting in the preparation and review of technical documentation, including environmental impact assessments, permits, and compliance reports.

• Coordinating with external stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, and clients, to ensure alignment with environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Relevant certifications in HSEQ are a plus.

• Proficiency in written and verbal communication in both English and French (oral and written).

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively engage with all levels of leadership, professional staff, and field employees.

• Good knowledge of ISO 14001 standards and familiarity with national and international regulations for offshore activities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, identify issues, and propose practical solutions.

• Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and environmental impact studies.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems is an asset.

• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Willingness to travel offshore or to remote sites as required by project demands.

Specific Certifications (Non-exhaustive list):

• Valid BOSIET (OPITO-approved).

• Valid MFC (Medical Fitness Certificate).

• Valid Seaman Book.

Conditions

• The majority of the work will be carried out at the company’s main office, with occasional travel to offshore sites or client locations as required.

• Working hours will adhere to local regulations and the company’s policies.

• The role may require participation in emergency response drills, offshore inspections, and on-call duties during critical operations.
