Our client,
A leading EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) company specializing in Offshore Wind. Renowned for delivering complex offshore projects with precision, safety, and efficiency, they are seeking a highly experienced Senior Offshore Installation Methods Engineer to join their team as a Project Engineer for subsea cable installation projects.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, validation, and execution of installation methodologies for subsea cable installation and repair projects. You will lead technical teams, support project execution, and ensure the highest standards of safety and engineering excellence.
Location: Hybrid role – 50% based in the Rotterdam area and 50% remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and optimization of offshore installation methodologies for subsea cable transport, handling, and repair.
Prepare and review detailed engineering documentation, including installation method statements, procedures, drawings, and risk assessments.
Provide technical expertise during tendering, engineering, procurement, and execution phases.
Offer on-site and offshore support during vessel mobilization, load-out, and installation campaigns.
Conduct and lead technical reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, and constructability assessments.
Serve as a key interface between engineering, operations, vessel teams, and client representatives.
Mentor and support junior and intermediate installation engineers, fostering professional growth.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company HSE requirements.
Identify and drive continuous improvement in installation methods and engineering tools.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
+10 years of offshore installation engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in subsea HV cables and/or flexible pipelines.
Strong knowledge of offshore operations, marine equipment, and vessel capabilities.
Proven track record in developing and validating complex offshore installation procedures
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience supporting tender preparation and technical proposal development.
Willingness to travel and participate in offshore campaigns as required.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
