We are currently seeking a Specialist H&S Engineer for an ongoing EPCI project, with a focus on the Offshore package. He/She will be in charge to define and follow up the implementation of the Project H&S Management System on the package, including subcontractors and third-party vessels.
Role summary
▪ Manage all aspects of Health & Safety in project execution and during Tender phase when required.
▪ Manage and assure that Management system and procedures and Client’s requirements and expectations are met
▪ Ensure that the project team is knowledgeable about and compliant to G&T Management systems and tools
▪ Assist in Continuous Improvement development of the organization with regards to Health & Safety activities
General Description
o As Project Health & Safety Manager manage the required Health & Safety activities for project by preparing and communicating the relevant Project Plans and Procedures from project Start-up to Close Out as required by the project and in compliance with the requirements of the project model.
o Participate in department/company work such as:
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Take personal responsibility for own HSE in all involved activities.
Have zero tolerance for poor HSE standards, and intervene to stop unsafe work.
Act like a HSE role model for others.
Responsibilities and Duties
o Day to day support to assist the Project Team in meeting their responsibility for HS performance.
o Support the project manager in following up project related HS incidents..
o Ensuring effective coordination and communication with Plant HSE department and/or together with the HSE Site Representative
o Ensuring effective coordination and communication with Land and Marine Installation project teams related to HSE activities.
o Ensuring effective coordination and communication with Client.
o Establishing and maintaining health and safety programs in accordance with Client and Contract requirements.
o Ensuring the implementation of the Project HS Management Plan and that its policies and objectives are communicated.
o Establish the Project HSE Plan and necessary HS documentation as per template
o Manage & distribute KPI’s related to Health & Safety as specific to the Project
o In tender, analyze the Health & Safety demands and give input to the Tender Manager
o Project Documents
o Organize project document review as required.
o Manage customer comments and document revision until full approval
o Promote Safety First at all Project Sites
o Promote the utilization of Safe Job Analysis, Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessments etc.
o Monthly HS performance reporting to Client
o Assist the Project Manager in implementing the Risk Management System with respect to;
Establish Risk Management Plan to define the required risk management activities for the project
Establish and maintain the Project Risk Register in Synergi.
Oversee that risk management activities are being implemented across the project organization
Facilitate risk workshops
Encourage risk owners and actions owners to establish measurable mitigating actions.
Follow-up Risk Owners’ and Action Owners’ identification of risks and mitigating actions.
Follow-up that HAZIDS, HAZOPS, etc. are planned and conducted according to the plan
Updating the project’s risk register
Preparation of project risk reporting both internal and external
o Liaise and maintain regular contact with Client’s Risk Manager Representative

The Project team is responsible for the good execution of Projects with maximum customer satisfaction. It is spread between several locations

▪ The Health & Safety Engineer is part of the project organization with the role as Project Health & Safety Manager
▪ The Health & Safety Engineer may lead a Health & Safety organization inside the project organization
Expected results
▪ Reduce the severity and/or probability of risks by the introduction of mitigation and control measures
▪ Efficient use of applicable Health & Safety tools and procedures
▪ Project compliance to Health & Safety system and Project Model enabling achievement internal/external demands
▪ Ensure a high level of safety and environmental awareness within the projects
▪ Be proactive and hands-on in preventing non compliances and performing problem solving.
Sought Profile
Senior Health & Safety Engineer
▪ Self-going on basic tasks within the Health & Safety discipline. Typically as independent Project Health & Safety manager in supply projects or installation projects
▪ Good understanding of the Health & Safety discipline area within projects
▪ Good ability and willingness to train / assist others on core tasks (tools)
▪ Willing and able to assist onboarding program for newcomers
▪ Spending expected / budgeted time solving standard Health & Safety tasks in projects
▪ Good ability and willingness to lead other team members in Health & Safety tasks.
▪ Able to act as Project Health & Safety Manager
▪ Typically 5-8 years of experience as Health & Safety Manager from manufacturing, installation or offshore
▪ Skilled in Project Management and methods
▪ Understanding of Project driven organizations and requirements
▪ Adequate Training and certification in Health & Safety and Risk Management
▪ University degree MSc, MBA, BSc or similar, preferably in engineering- or QHSER discipline
▪ Knowledge of industrial processes – as cable manufacturing, relevant industry and/or marine and land installation works
▪ Fluent in English, verbal and written
