Location: Offshore (project based in Noirmoutier)

Home Port: Saint-Nazaire

Contract Type: Fixed-term (6 months)

Department: Transport & Installation (T&I) – Offshore Wind Farm

Reports To: Package Manager for Transport & Installation

Main Mission:

The Offshore Client Representative will oversee the offshore transportation and installation (T&I) operations of wind turbines for the Noirmoutier project. Acting as the client's on-site representative, the Client Rep will ensure that all operations adhere to safety, efficiency, and compliance with contractual and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Offshore Operations

  • Oversee offshore transport and installation activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational protocols.

  • Verify that all work carried out by the contractor aligns with agreed specifications, quality standards, and project timeline.

  • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of the installation process, providing real-time feedback and reports.

Deliverables:

  • Daily and weekly offshore operation reports.

  • Quality inspection reports and compliance checklists.

  • On-site records of installation milestones.

2. Coordination and Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact between offshore contractor teams and the client’s project management team.

  • Facilitate communication between onshore and offshore teams, ensuring alignment on objectives, expectations, and potential challenges.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and safety briefings, sharing feedback and lessons learned.

Deliverables:

  • Meeting minutes and notes.

  • Status updates and communication logs.

  • Risk assessment and mitigation action plans.

3. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines during offshore operations.

  • Report any safety incidents, near-misses, or hazards to the HSE coordinator and take immediate corrective action if required.

  • Foster a safety-first culture among all offshore personnel and contractors.

Deliverables:

  • Incident and safety reports.

  • HSE compliance checklists.

  • Safety audits and corrective action plans.

4. Quality Assurance and Documentation

  • Ensure that all installation documentation, including lift plans, procedures, and risk assessments, is rigorously followed.

  • Conduct verification and approval of offshore installation checklists and reports.

  • Review and approve final installation documentation to confirm compliance with contractual requirements.

Deliverables:

  • Approved installation procedures and documents.

  • Signed and verified quality assurance checklists.

  • Completion certificates and acceptance reports.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of offshore wind turbine installation procedures.

  • Extensive experience in offshore operations, preferably within the wind energy sector.

  • Proven ability to manage contractors and ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.

  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure offshore environments.

Profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore operations, specifically in transport and installation.

  • Background in marine engineering, offshore construction, or related fields.

  • Familiarity with international standards and regulations for offshore wind projects.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE practices and protocols for offshore environments.

  • Ability to commit to a rotation schedule (2 weeks offshore, 2 weeks rest) with a strong focus on safety and project quality.

Working Conditions:

  • Offshore rotation with a defined schedule of 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off.

  • High availability during the duration of the offshore campaigns.

  • Capability to work in challenging weather conditions, maintaining a focus on safety and quality.

  • Willingness to travel as required to the project site, with Saint-Nazaire as the home port.
